Indian Chieftain motorcycle hire in Tenerife

One bike, chosen for long island rides: the Indian Chieftain 1.8, a full-size American touring bagger. Its 1,811 cc Thunder Stroke 111 V-twin pulls hard from low revs, the fairing and power windshield keep the wind off on the TF-1 motorway, cruise control helps on the long straights, and the lockable hard saddlebags carry luggage for two. The Chieftain rents from 150 € a day, insurance is included, and the refundable deposit of 1,000 € equals the excess. You need a full category A licence and real touring experience - this is not a scooter for the promenade. Good rides start with our Masca and Anaga mountain roads guide and the road conditions check before you set off. For four wheels and an open roof, see our convertible and car rental in Tenerife.

A full category A motorcycle licence is required by Spanish law for a bike of this size, and our standard conditions apply: rider aged 26 or over with the licence held for more than two years. Licences not issued in the Latin alphabet need an International Driving Permit alongside. Full details are on our rental terms page.

The Indian Chieftain is from 150 EUR per day on rentals of eight days or more, 170 EUR per day for four to seven days and 250 EUR per day for shorter bookings. Fully comprehensive insurance is included. A refundable deposit of 1,000 EUR is held at handover – it equals the insurance excess and is returned in full when the bike comes back undamaged.

Yes. We hand the motorcycle over at Tenerife South (TFS) or Tenerife North (TFN) airport, or at your hotel or apartment anywhere on the island – Costa Adeje, Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz and beyond. Choose the pickup point in the booking form and we confirm the time on WhatsApp.

The TF-1 along the south coast is where the fairing, windshield and cruise control earn their keep. The TF-21 from Vilaflor up to the Teide caldera is wide and flowing, and the Chieftain climbs it in top gear. The TF-5 to the north and the TF-12 across the Anaga ridge are scenic all-day rides. Very narrow mountain lanes such as the Masca road are better left to lighter bikes.

At the moment the Indian Chieftain 1.8 is the only motorcycle in our fleet, so we say so plainly rather than promise a choice we do not have. If you need a lighter bike, a second machine for a companion or a car for part of the trip, message us on WhatsApp – you can also browse the full fleet of convertibles and cars.
